roadside spraying, herbicide, mid rotation release, tree planting, Arkansas

Herbicide Applications

Herbicide Applications are designed to control the vegetation prior to planting. This is usually done between April and October. Our crew is trained to perform from the ground either by hand or mechanically using a skidder.

Hack & Squirt

One of the simplest and most effective techniques for removing select trees and large shrubs without cutting them down is called the “hack-and-squirt” method, or bark injection. Our crew will hack small cuts in the trunk of target trees and squirt a herbicide solution into the cut.

Roadside Spraying

The purpose of the herbicide spraying operation is to control noxious and invasive plants that may cause a safety concern, compete with desirable vegetation on the right of way and are detrimental to the environment. An effective spraying program has been shown to reduce mowing cycles, mowing costs and to improve the overall condition of the road system.

Mid-Rotation Release

During the months of May-October, Skidders that are equipped with spray equipment are used to control unwanted woody vegetation that is competing for nutrients and moisture.

Right of Way

Bare ground application utilizing skidders, crawlers, and or back pack crew to help maintain vegetation control for Utility ROW.

Forest Mastication

The purpose of the herbicide spraying operation is to control noxious and invasive plants that may cause a safety concern, compete with desirable vegetation on the right of way and are detrimental to the environment. An effective spraying program has been shown to reduce mowing cycles, mowing costs and to improve the overall condition of the road system.

Hydroseeding

Hydroseeding is the fastest, most cost effective and highest quality method of seeding lawn, landscape and erosion control practices. The hydroseeding slurry is applied with pressure via hose onto the soil to create the ideal environment for seed germination and turf development. Grass should start to grow within 7 days, and the new lawn will be well established within 3-4 weeks.

Mechanical Mulching

Forestry mulching is a land clearing method that uses a single machine to cut, grind, and clear vegetation. Using a track steer with mulching head makes it versatile but efficient in taking care of any job.

Tree Planting

During Hand-planting, our crew will use a dibble bar to plant seedlings. An opening is made in ground, the seedling is placed at the correct depth and the planter will use the heel to compact soil around the seedling.

Thinning & Prunning

Thinning removes surplus trees and concentrates the potential wood production of the stand on the selected crop trees. By thinning, you can control which trees survive.  Pruning of lower branches is usually conducted to increase the quality of the tree at the time of harvest.
